Ideal for large size of parts, like automotive components. 

Ideal for multi-cavity molds, such as razor handles, plastic caps for bottles or sprayers. 

Cons:  

Higher mold cost compared to cold runners, so does the maintenance cost. 

High requirement on mold design, especially in filling balance 

Not easy to change colors 

May not suitable for all resins, especially for those are heat sensitive
