Alloy Cementation Treated Steel Boosts Long Service Life of Our Automotive Lamp Molds

Alloy cementation is an advanced metal surface modification technology. By infusing alloy elements into base metal through high-temperature diffusion, it forms a robust metallurgical reinforced layer, greatly improving steel’s wear resistance, corrosion resistance and high-temperature oxidation resistance. This mature surface treatment process is widely adopted for high-load precision mold steel.

For our automotive lamp molds, we select premium 1.2344ESR mold steel processed with alloy cementation treatment as core cavity material. Automotive lamp molds have intricate curved surfaces, narrow deep grooves and require repeated high-speed injection molding; ordinary untreated steel is prone to early wear, thermal fatigue and corrosion after long production runs. The alloy cementation treatment optimizes the surface microstructure of 1.2344ESR steel: the reinforced outer layer delivers excellent abrasion and heat resistance, while the steel core retains outstanding toughness, effectively preventing mold cracking, cavity scuffing and thermal deformation during mass production. This greatly extends mold service life and keeps stable precision for millions of injection cycles.

As a professional custom injection mold manufacturer, Hongmei strictly controls raw material selection for all precision automotive molds. Apart from optimized steel material, we deliver complete one-stop mold customization services including structural design, precision machining, full mold trial and after-sales support. Every mold undergoes rigorous quality inspection before shipment, with standard lead time of 25–35 working days. Our high-standard material strategy enables our lamp molds to steadily serve automotive clients across Southeast Asia, Taiwan and other overseas markets.
