Midea's Custom Washing Machine Molds for India Successfully Shipped, Ushering in New Manufacturing Phase

In global home appliance manufacturing, Midea stays committed to innovation and efficiency. On October 14, 2025, a batch of custom washing machine molds was shipped from Taizhou Hongmei Mould & Plastic Co., Ltd., boosting Midea’s washing machine production in India and marking a key step in its global manufacturing drive.

Strong Collaboration for Premium Quality

Based in Huangyan District, Taizhou (known as the "Hometown of Molds") with easy access to airports and railways, Taizhou Hongmei has grown into an integrated enterprise (founded in 2014) with 86 employees, including 12 senior designers and 8 engineers with over 12 years of experience.

Midea partnered with Hongmei for its solid mold-making expertise. In this project, Hongmei applied advanced CAD/CAM/CAE technologies, refining every detail from product design and 3D modeling to final production. It also optimized mold structures and costs to meet Midea’s strict performance requirements.

Advanced Equipment Guarantees Manufacturing Standards

Hongmei is equipped with full sets of advanced CNC equipment (5-axis high-speed mills, deep hole drills, EDM machines, etc.) and testing tools (coordinate measuring machines, hardness testers, etc.). For the shipped molds, deep hole drills ensured cooling system installation (stabilizing washing machine quality), while 5-axis mills enabled precise processing of complex surfaces for sleek casings. Comprehensive testing further secured mold and product quality.

Future Outlook: Jointly Building Manufacturing Excellence

This shipment optimizes Midea India’s production line, helping launch consumer-centric new washing machines faster. It also reflects Midea’s global supply chain strategy: by cooperating with Hongmei, Midea enhances local manufacturing in India, shortens delivery cycles, cuts logistics costs, and supports India’s "Make in India" initiative.

Going forward, Midea and Hongmei will deepen cooperation, exploring smart molds and green manufacturing. Midea will also further tap the Indian market, expand its product range, and strengthen brand influence globally.
